FROM THE "I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR" STYLE FILES...

What to wear this time of year in crazy weather to a ladies luncheon? Hmmm...

Well, I certainly can't go wrapped in a pink sheet, now can I?

Maybe a little fun something like these pieces!

I'm loving this modified zebra print Nicole Miller dress that is available through Decades. Black and white is such a great base to start with, and you could easily add just about any kind and color of sweater, scarf or jewelry to something like this with a classic shape and make it your own style.

The weather is still uncertain this time of year; one day its cold and rainy and the next is breezy with sunshine. A cute jacket like this one designed by Terry Lewis, is perfect to toss over not just the zebra dress above, but would be super with jeans, a charcoal pleated or pencil skirt, and really yummy with something in rich chocolate brown. The pretty pearly pink keeps this piece decidedly feminine and you can find it at Glitz 1.

Here's an example of a classic bag that really never goes out of style. By Ronay, this 1960's grey leather doctor's bag looks so chic even today. You can get this from Created And Collected on etsy, and be sure to check out the lux print lining inside this silver handled purse.

Sterling silver surrounds pink Mother of Pearl rectangle shapes on this bracelet. I think this is such a cool way to do pink jewelry...not too sweet and a little more edgy. My Southern Lace is a huge shop with lots of different items from fashion to housewares.

Have I mentioned that grey and pink are one of my favorite color combinations? These charcoal-gunmetal hued pumps from Salvatore Ferragamo have a slight shimmery satin effect to them and would blend with lots of shades in your wardrobe. From Vintage Oriental.

I'm hoping the tables at the luncheon look something like this to compliment my ensemble beautifully, no?

HAIR JEWELRY!

When you want to do an extra special look for a fabulous event, why not try a little sparkle for your tresses?

With the upcoming royal wedding next month, I predict we will see more hats and hair decorations than ever, and I love it!

Can you believe this stunning piece? It's a signed Weiss brooch with bursting prong-set rhinestones surrounding a bold faceted round center. The seller, Love Honor Upcycle, is willing to convert it to a hair comb if you chose to wear it in your lovely locks for your big event. What a pretty look for a beautiful bride, and this would make a wonderful heirloom to pass on even if you wore it to attend a wedding, a New Years party or just a special date! Love!

LOOKING AHEAD TO A NEW WEEK!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG...
... and it's time to get back on track with some really great finds to help me get through mybusy week! Hope you like them!

SUNDAY...

There's nothing nicer this time of year than watching the birds get ready for Spring and I love spending down time on the patio admiring the beauty of Mother Nature. This late 1940's Bird of Paradise brooch designed by Marcel Boucher mimics a colorful feathered friend in dramatic aqua and navy blues atop a stunning rhinestone branch with pearl berries. Lucky bird, wouldn't you say? From AOJ Vintage Jewelry.

MONDAY...
I'm working on re-opening my etsy store soon with some wonderful vintage finds and have been on the lookout for a great vintage mannequin to show off some of the incredible garments I've acquired. I ran across this cool olive-colored one, also from the 1940's, and like how the skirt cage adds some weightiness to the piece. I've seen some great interiors done with them as cool home accessories, too. It's available from Plain And Elegant.

TUESDAY...
I passed by my favorite local nursery while running errands the other day and saw that they were really filling up with lots of new plants in the prettiest bursts of color! I tend to like a more formal feel on my patio and would love to use this classic piece right in the middle of my table with some lovely tiny blossoms trailing out of the urn that this cute little guy is showing off. You can have this precious putti on your table from My Northern Star.

WEDNESDAY...
A rainy Spring season calls for a cute little slicker in a fun color, but this one is over the top! Timeless Vixen offers this ruby red vinyl patent trench with all the bells and whistles...the spy collar, double breasted brass buttons and flattering belt. Oh, and there's a matching Mod A-line mini dress underneath for all you "Agent 99" fashionistas out there, but I'd be happy just wearing the coat with my jeans and T-shirt underneath! Be sure to go check this one out...it's really fun!

THURSDAY...

Here's something new just in time for a fresh spring spruce up around the house! When I'm doing a cleaning this time of year, I like to take a look at changing up my vignettes around the place: changing up the mantel display, my entry table, the powder room counter. This seller, who also does interiors, offers this little four piece set that includes a copy of an Emily Post etiquette book, clock, gloves and an adorable vintage purse for what she calls the "Perfectly Proper Vignette". Kind of a cool idea if you are not great at creating your own tabletop looks. Her shop is called Design Element.

FRIDAY...

I know I've mentioned before how much fun we have playing games at our house for just some great quality time together. We've invited friends for cards and this would be a hoot to serve some old school cocktails in, don't you think? Since we are not smokers, we could still use the ashtrays for nuts or other goodies to snack on. Jeanette's Creek is quite a large shop with some really neat bar ware and other retro items.

SATURDAY...

The baby shower I am hosting is finally here and we requested that everyone wear pink in honor of the little girl on the way! How fun to wear this amazing little shift dress, from Tova's Vintage, for this festive occasion, in a pink and green floral pattern with a touch of gold lame thread running through it! It comes with a wonderful matching coat, too, that would be a perfect little evening cover up, even dressing up dark wash jeans for a more casual cocktail ensemble. I have the most perfect pair of hot pink satin evening slippers...hmmmm.....
Have a delightful week!
